On site at six, at twelve a sandwich from the van or the petrol station. On a construction site, everyone sorts out their own food, and anyone who brought nothing drives off or goes without. On some sites a cabinet solves that. Because a site is temporary, how long it runs matters more than how many people are on it.
A construction crew starts early, does physical work and is often somewhere with nothing there yet: a plot under construction, a new housing estate, a business park still being built. The nearest food is a drive away, and the break is short. What is needed in the morning is covered in breakfast at work.
On a large site, many firms also work side by side: the main contractor, subcontractors and agency workers. Food tied to one firm does not reach the rest; see food for agency workers.
| Type of site | Does it work? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Long project with a fixed site cabin and power | Yes, after a site visit | A fixed spot and enough time for the range to sell through |
| Project of a few weeks | No | Too short to tailor a range |
| Site without a fixed power supply | No | The cabinet needs an ordinary socket |
| The contractor’s central depot or yard | Yes | A fixed spot where crews leave and return every day |
What else a spot needs is covered in technical requirements. A stoppage for weather or a works holiday is planned into the restocking.

The more of these apply, the faster a cabinet pays for itself. If two or fewer apply, a smaller solution probably suits you better, and we will tell you so.

How long does the project still run, when do the crews start, and which phases are coming?
In or next to the site cabin, with a socket and away from site traffic routes.
Hearty portions for those who lift, drinks for summer, with halal, kosher, vegetarian and vegan included.
When the project ends, restocking stops in good time, so no full cabinet is left behind.
Anyone lifting and carrying all day gets little from a light sandwich. That is why there are hearty portions, something high in protein and something hot to heat up in the site cabin. Why protein counts in physical work is covered in high-protein meals.
In summer, drinks matter at least as much: water, sports drinks and something cold alongside the food. What can go in the cabinet besides soft drinks is covered in healthy drinks at work.
Ask us before you buy; we do not promise it here. Every new spot needs a fresh check of power and position, and a new range. Often the contractor’s depot is a better fixed spot than a series of sites.
The cabinet needs an ordinary socket. Whether the power on your site is suitable and reliable for it is something to check on site.
Build a planned stoppage or works holiday into the restocking, so no full cabinet is left standing. An unexpected stop for rain or frost can be caught up in the next round.
Yes. With a bank card or the app, anyone on site can take something, with no badge or registration on your side.
Often, yes. Crews leave from there in the morning and come back in the evening, the spot is fixed and the power is there. Anyone who wants something for the drive to site can take it there.
Eight short questions about your site or depot. We tell you whether a cabinet makes sense there or whether the project is too short for it.
